Gloucester Township hired CPS to conduct a space needs assessment for their police department and municipal court. The existing facility, which is almost 50 years old and adjoined to the administration building, is no longer adequate to meet the needs of these critical public safety services. Security is a major concern, and the city is also eager to include an emergency operations center in the new facility.

Space needs studies are important for a number of reasons. First, they help organizations to ensure that they have enough space to meet their needs, without overspending on unnecessary space. Second, space needs studies can help organizations to improve the efficiency and functionality of their facilities. Third, space needs studies can help organizations to create facilities that are sustainable and environmentally friendly.

CPS gathered information about the organization's current space usage and requirements through interviews with staff, surveys, and observation of existing facilities. Once the current space needs were assessed, the team developed projections for future space requirements. These projections were based on factors such as the organization's growth plans, changes in technology, and new programs or services.

The team developed a space plan that meets the organization's current and future space needs. This plan included recommendations for the size, layout, and features of the new or renovated facility.

CPS also took into account the city's specific needs, such as the need for security features and sustainability features. The goal of the space needs assessment was to develop a plan that allowed the city to provide the best possible public safety services to its residents.
