Williamsburg County, SC Emergency Operations Center Space Needs Study

 

Williamsburg County, South Carolina is a county located in the Pee Dee region of the state. The county seat and largest city is Kingstree. Williamsburg County has a population of approximately 31,000 people.

Williamsburg County is known for its rich history and culture. The county was founded in 1736 and was named in honor of King William III of England. Williamsburg County was a major center of indigo and rice production during the colonial era. The county was also home to a number of plantations, including the Middleton Place Plantation and the Hampton Plantation.

The county administration was housed in an old structure downtown and CPS was retained to conduct a space need study for a new emergency operations center. Several sites were considered and a site located near the city of Kingstree’s recreational complex was consider the prime location.
